Mahmoud’s Story
Mahmoud is a bright, determined young 25 year old from Gaza who has endured unimaginable hardship over the past two years. His home was destroyed during the ongoing conflict, and he now lives in a tent in the Deir al-Baha Maghazi refugee camp. Despite these devastating circumstances, Mahmoud has never given up on his dream: to continue his education and build a better future.
Mahmoud holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and is applying to study for a Master’s degree in Ireland. This opportunity represents more than just education—it’s a chance for Mahmoud to experience life beyond the confines of occupation, to heal emotionally and mentally, and to immerse himself in a culture of peace, diversity, and hope.

My name is Níamh Kenny, and together with Mahmoud, I help manage this website to support him in achieving his dream of studying in Ireland. I have been supporting Mahmoud throughout this process—helping him navigate university applications, visa requirements, and planning for life in a new country.
